Dear Future School Community:

It’s hard to believe that we’re almost into November. The semester rapidly accelerates from here as students wrap up academic classes with exciting projects and rigorous examinations while also working on their Fall exhibitions. Please put December 9th on your calendar. We will hold Gallery Night from 5-7pm, which is the premier celebration of Future School. Our students show off their learning and network with the community. All students must attend, and we encourage all families to also participate. The week after Gallery Night will be filled with student exhibitions during the school day. Your student’s advisor will contact you about their exhibition time and place. We encourage you to attend this exhibition as well.

In order to better focus on student learning, minimize disruptions to the school day and promote a safe, secure environment, we are implementing a few new policies and practices.

  • Students are no longer allowed to order outside food delivery any day other than Thursday. Food delivery has become a major disruption to the school day. Just a reminder that we provide FREE breakfast and lunch for students on campus as well. Food delivery drivers will not be allowed into the building and students attempting to circumvent this rule will face consequences.
  • We can no longer allow unscheduled, drop-in appointments with staff members except in emergency situations. If you need to meet with a staff member, please email them or call the front office to schedule an appointment. This allows us to provide you with our full attention during the meeting and ensures that the school continues to operate smoothly with no gaps in supervision or instruction.
  • Rocket Reflection (R&R) is a new program we are starting after school from 3:35-4:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students who are exhibiting problematic behaviors may be assigned to R&R as a consequence for their actions. Be aware that attendance in Rocket Reflection is mandatory when assigned. Failure to attend will result in greater consequences. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

We look forward to continuing to refine our culture and partner with you in the education of your student.

With Respect,

Boyd Logan, Director
